Bridge indicator mesh is a bright highly visible red (or other colour if required) extruded plastic mesh. Used on bridge decks to indicate and protect the waterproof membrane. The plastic mesh acts as an ideal visual indicator and protection layer from spade or shovel impact. The mesh is installed over a layer of sand asphalt or a fine binder course which has been laid over the bridge decks waterproof membrane.  Above the Indicator mesh another binder course is laid before the bridge surface course is applied.

Indicator mesh is a cost effective alternative to other depth indicator techniques.  Any future resurfacing planning or repairs to the bridges surface will be safe in the knowledge that the indicator mesh will act as clear indicator and warning that the waterproof membrane is below.
