Rockshield Mesh - Pipeline Protection Mesh
Rockshield mesh is a plastic mesh wrapping applied to ductile iron pipes and pipelines to protect their anti-corrosion coatings from damage from rocks when the trench is backfilled. Boddingtons China Rockshield mesh is manufactured from high density polyethylene and offers maximum protection against impact damage during backfilling operations, and contains a foaming agent to give a 'cushion' effect helping to enhance the protection the mesh can give/ Rockshield mesh is chemically inert and rot resistant. The open mesh structure allows the flow of water and therefore does not interfere with the pipelines cathodic protection coating.
Rockshield mesh can be manufactured in various thicknesses, weights, widths and lengths to meet many different conditions and specifications, and can be manufactured manufactured in widths from 1.0 metre up to 1.8 metres wide. It can beinstalled in three different ways, along the pipe, around the pipe or by spiraling around the pipe. Joins and overlaps can be heated joined with a gas torch, or the join can easily be fixed by using standard polypropylene straps and plastic clips.
